Booklist Review

Lanyi is recognized by Wall Street insiders as a successful stockbroker and analyst. A frequent contributor to Financial World, Lanyi has a knack for discovering companies on the verge of phenomenal growth, and here he tells how he does it. Disdaining financial analysis, Lanyi argues that the successful investor must understand the essence of the company and that this understanding comes in part from instinct and in part from a concentrated research effort. Along the way, Lanyi recounts a number of personal anecdotes meant to illustrate two other points: it is necessary to take risks, and success comes from being there first. His sound advice and personal style combine to provide a quite readable investment book. ~--David Rouse
