Booklist Review

Ebert has taken Rohr's workshop on the enneagram--an ancient Eastern aid for self-knowledge and spiritual guidance of others--and combined it with previously published literature on the subject as well as a series of the author's personal experiences. While the enneagram probably derives originally from the tradition of Sufi wisdom, Ebert argues that it can be (and is) useful to Christians who seek greater understanding of the "interior life" and the true self, so that this knowledge can be used to transcend the faults that are revealed through such self-knowledge (i.e., for conversion). As a mirror of the soul, Ebert asserts, "the Enneagram can help us to find a deeper and more authentic relationship with God." Recommended for larger religion or New Age collections. ~--Sheila McGinn-Moorer
