Booklist Review

The publisher's Power series of illustrated military volumes now puts out the first of what will surely be a deluge of material regarding the Persian Gulf crisis. Written by an experienced aviation journalist, the text covers the Allied military build-up from August 1990 through the end of the year. The book's tone is definitely positive and patriotic, and it has the great virtue of pulling together a vast amount of material that readers will have previously had to extract piecemeal from the newspapers. The photographs of men, equipment, and activities are also much superior to those featured in the daily paper. Likely to be a popular item in nearly any collection--until superseded by something better. No index. ~--Roland Green
