Library Journal Review

The thesis of this book, written by an antiterrorism consultant, is that the risk from terrorism can be reduced with adequate and appropriate preparation. It is primarily written for business security, law enforcement, and government personnel. Clear outlines of important topics, anecdotes, and hypothetical cases make this a practical guide (as the title suggests) for antiterrorism programs. Topics range from the nature of terrorist groups and tactics to threat assessment and risk management. This is one of the best overviews of terrorism and the management of terrorist events to be published in recent years, as well as a good training manual for those who might be responsible for antiterrorism programs.-- William L.
