Library Journal Review

In an old plot competently handled by a newcomer to Walker Westerns, Becky Major has to manage the family ranch while her brother is laid up with a smashed ankle. The spread is mortgaged to Carl Farr, who covets it. To the rescue comes a mysterious, capable cowboy, Clint Austin, who defends Becky and the ranch against Farr and his crew of greedy, vengeful henchmen. The many details of ranch life reflect the author's personal knowledge, the style is colloquial and spare, the action fast and furious enough to satisfy avid readers of westerns. However, Vories strains a bit to contrive a happy ending.-- Sister Avila, Academy of the Holy Angels, Minneapolis (c) Copyright 2010.
