Booklist Review

During his childhood along the shores of Puget Sound, Gibbons switched from power boating to sailing. Since 1969, he has owned, sold, raced, and charter-skippered catamarans, a craft about which he is clearly enthusiastic. In a book designed to attract new converts to catamaran sailing, Gibbons traces the history of multihull boats, combats common misconceptions about safety, and extols the comfort available in catamarans designed for cruising. Guest articles by marine architects, boat builders, and sailors round out the coverage. Because there are few excellent books about cruising catamarans, libraries serving the sailing public will want to include this in their collections. Includes drawings and photos; no index. --Maurine Hoffmann
