Booklist Review

Stern is a veteran of many successful--though bitter and bloody--corporate battles in the highly competitive electronics industry. Through Shachtman, author of a number of reportorial-type books, Stern prescribes his own potent brand of career advice. He is particularly disdainful of corporate--but not personal--loyalty and counsels Machiavellian machinations. He challenges the corporate executive to create an image backed by substance. While his advice may prove distasteful to some, judiciously followed, his suggestions could prove effective in cutting through much of today's corporate underbrush and deadwood. A book for the aggressively ambitious. Not indexed. --David Rouse
