Booklist Review

An excellent recount of the daily activities and business structure of farm cooperatives. Since the cooperative is so important in bringing farm products to markets, the authors emphasize their practicality in agriculture, though the cooperative principles are applicable to all forms of business. Cooperatives are defined, principles are presented, and the economics and business applications are discussed, as are the financial and economic theories that drive the cooperative marketplace. Insight is also provided into foreign cooperatives. In-depth without being too technical, this is an honest assessment of cooperatives for the present and the future. Index. --George Hampton
