The facsimile (photolithographed) is in two parts.

Most of the emblems are from earlier works published by Plantin, more than half being identical with those in the works of Alciati, Paradin, and Sambucus. cf. p. 252.

The 72 "illustrative plates" (numbered 1-63) between pages 414 and [415] include facsimilies of many additional emblems, printers' devices, etc.
