In Avonlea--a small, tight-knit farming town on a remote island-life holds few options for farm girls. Young Marilla Cuthbert is inspired by her Aunt Izzy, a spinster who escaped to the city and makes her own way. Marilla finds herself doing world-changing work of her own, but if her dreams cost her her beloved farm life, choices must be made.
