Library Journal Review

In 1905, Camri Coulter goes to San Francisco to find her missing brother, a successful lawyer. On her trip, she makes two new friends, Judith and Kenzie, whom she invites to live with her as she begins her search. The friends have their own reasons for leaving home and beginning a new chapter in the bustling city. Camri must learn that her pride and college education will only take her so far in her quest and that she'll need help, including from Patrick Murdock, a handsome Irishman who was defended by her brother. In the last quarter of the book, the focus shifts to a young Chinese woman's rescue from a rough whorehouse. Overall, this particular title is a bit of a jumble. Angela Lin's narration suffers when all three of the women are together as it can be difficult to discern individuals. VERDICT Recommended to faithful fans of historical Christian romance.
