Summary:
A storm of epic proportions will hit the Thames Barrier, the largest fixed tidal defense in the world. Authorities are skeptical but then the unthinkable happens: the Barrier is overwhelmed by an immense and terrifying surge.

The people of Belfield, a small farming town in Missouri, struggle to stand their ground against the uncontrolled fury of a raging Mississippi River in this gripping story of courage and survival.

When a series of deadly tidal waves mysteriously strike the eastern seaboard, scientists John McAdams and Sophie Markeay are convinced that they are more than mother nature. Signs indicate the unthinkable, these waves may be a government conspiracy aimed at political and financial gain. As John and Sophie race to expose the truth, they must evade the corporate and governmental figures that want them dead.

Former weapons specialist John Wahl (Corbin Bernsen) and oceanographer Jessica Weaver (Julianne Phillips) wage a full-scale assault on a master weather manipulator whose corrupt imagination causes deadly tsunamis along the Pacific coastline.

A storm chaser (Campbell) helps a former meteorology professor (Hudson) to use his new invention with which he hopes to collect data to be used to predict tornado activity. The only hitch: They must place the device smack in the devastating path of the twister-- and get away in time. To make matters worse, Samantha Callen (Sturges), a field investigator from the National Accounting Office, has been dispatched to kill the program, unless she can be convinced that the invention will work.
