Fed up with how staged and phony reality shows are, reality show producer, Mickey Wagner hatches a revolutionary idea to pick an average American family and put them under all-encompassing surveillance, without the family's knowledge. The problem is, the family is boring. Under pressure from the studio, Mickey starts to introduce drama in the form of sexual temptations, drinking, and work problems, and before long, the family begins to unravel in increasingly shocking ways.
