With all the warmth of a cozy quilt, three authors stitch together Amish tales of hearts joined, friendships patched, and the bright joys of Christmas tradition . . .

A Willow Ridge Christmas Pageant
Charlotte Hubbard

Seth Brenneman didn't expect his holiday would include rescuing pregnant young Mary Kauffman and her two children. . .or having unexpected feelings for the still-grieving widow. But when they must play the leads in an impromptu live Nativity pageant to help his Amish community, will their roles reveal their hearts--and work a miracle for a lifetime?

A Christmas On Ice Mountain
Kelly Long

Matthew Beider and Laurel Lapp's secret wish to marry is a gift their feuding fathers definitely won't accept. And trying to settle their dats' long-standing quarrel is making their holiday anything but merry. Can rediscovering the joys and friendships of Christmas past finally turn their families' futures bright?

A Perfect Amish Christmas
Jennifer Beckstrand

Anna and Felty Helmuth's grandson, Gideon, plans to spend Christmas on a beach in sunny Mexico. But Anna is quite sure he'd rather be with them, snowshoeing, ice fishing--falling in love. And she knows the perfect girl. Not only is Dottie Schrock an excellent quilter and baker, she's having a party. There's just one complication--Gideon is not invited. Dottie has her reasons, but Anna trusts that the spirit of Christmas--and true love--will change her mind, and her future . . .

"Fans of Amish fiction will love the Seasons of the Heart series."--Marta Perry, Lydia's Hope

"A delightful voice in Amish romance. Sweet and funny." --Emma Miller

Author Notes

Drawing upon her experiences in Jamesport, the largest Old Order Amish community west of the Mississippi, longtime Missourian Charlotte Hubbard writes of simpler times and a faith-based lifestyle in her new Seasons of the Heart series. Charlotte now lives in Minnesota with her husband and their border collie.

Publisher's Weekly Review

This sweet anthology celebrates Christmas in three different Amish communities. It's easy to sympathize with Beckstrand's Dottie in "A Perfect Amish Christmas"; she's so consumed with giving her mother a perfect Christmas that she forgets her family just wants to spend time with her. Long's "A Christmas on Ice Mountain" is the Amish version of Romeo and Juliet (though less star-crossed) as Matthew and Laurel look for their happy ending despite their fathers' ongoing feud. In Hubbard's "A Willow Ridge Christmas Pageant," young widow Mary tries to get away from her father's overbearing manner to take care of her little family. Each story has plenty of laughing and joking as well as jealous outbursts, teasing, and passion. The three portrayals of Amish life differ slightly, but the patchwork mix will keep readers toasty warm this winter. (Nov.) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.

Library Journal Review

Three inspirational authors bring the holidays to life through homespun stories that reprise their popular series settings. A recently widowed mother and a wary bachelor are drawn together when they take part in the Christmas program in Hubbard's touching "A Willow Ridge Christmas Pageant" ("Seasons of the Heart"); a young couple find love despite their fathers' decades-long feud in Kelly Long's "A Christmas on Ice Mountain" ("Amish of Ice Mountain"); and a grandmother's meddling brings a young couple together despite their teenage clashes in Jennifer Beckstrand's "A Perfect Amish Christmas" ("Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill"). VERDICT Sweet, romantic, and heartfelt, this trio of engaging novellas link the holidays with the current Amish craze and will have appeal far beyond the expected inspirational fan base. Hubbard, Long, and Beckstrand live in St. Paul; Hummelstown, PA; and Centerville, UT, respectively. (c) Copyright 2014. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
