Booklist Review

What kid doesn't want a pony party? Well, it looks like Tina, the birthday girl, isn't so thrilled when surprise! two ponies arrive at her bash. Annie, Meg, and Jill, or the Pony Scouts, are assisting Jill's mom with Tina's party, helping kids to mount Inky and Splash and leading the rides. It takes Annie's admission that she, too, was afraid of riding at first to bolster Tina's confidence. This level 2 I Can Read!, the ninth title in the Pony Scouts series, once again offers a high-interest topic, which, coupled with plenty of white space, large-print text, and a watercolor illustration on each page, makes for beginning-reader magic.--Kelley, Ann Copyright 2010 Booklist
