Summary:
"Peter Rindlisbacher is an internationally renowned marine artist who has created more than 120 paintings of the War of 1812 era. These works of art portray not only naval vessels at sea or in battle, but also sailors on board and civilians on the shore. His attention to the human drama of the war is distinctive. Born in Windsor, he lived for many years at Amherstburg, Ontario, site of the British navy yard during the war. He is a racing sailor, ship model builder, and historical re-enactor. He is also a member of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists, the American Society of Marine Artists, and the Naval Officers Association of Canada. Many of his paintings have been acquired by marine museums and historic sites, and reproduced for magazine publication in National Geographic and for television broadcast on the History Channel."--Jacket.
