On Order

Acting Sheriff Ben Logan hasn't heard from Leigh Somerall in a very long time, but it doesn't mean he can get her--or their whirlwind romance of ten years ago--out of his head. When she calls out of the blue, it is with a strange request to protect her brother, Tony. When Tony dies just days later, Ben is charged with a different task--protecting Leigh and her nine-year-old son, TJ, from the killers. But how can Ben keep an eye on Leigh if she's doing everything in her power to avoid him? And could the secret that Leigh is keeping change Ben's life forever?
Suspense, intrigue, and a touch of romance make A Promise to Protect perfect for readers who like their stories with a hearty dose of mystery.

Booklist Review

Ben Logan took a sworn oath to protect the town of Logan Point, Tennesssee, as its sheriff, but a series of crimes with only one element linking them, him, makes him doubt himself. Ben is particularly shaken when his former love, Dr. Leigh Somerall, also becomes a target. Bradley (Shadows of the Past, 2014) dramatizes the terror and pain caused by unknown assailants, long-kept secrets, and abandoned love in a romantic suspense novel that will send chills down the spines and thrills to the hearts of readers as each event that rocks Logan Point draws Leigh and Ben back together. The struggling sheriff and the stubborn doctor are forced to help each other survive, but their old wounds and current peril keep them from connecting in the way each longs to. Bradley takes readers through the tough part of any relationship, the breaking down of barriers and learning that trust and love are greater and more powerful than fear. This is an exciting tale right up to the last page.--Richard, Carolyn Copyright 2014 Booklist

Library Journal Review

Leigh Somerall has only been back in Logan Point for a short time, but it's been long enough for her and her young son to reconnect with her brother Tony. Not wanting to get involved with anyone or make any new friends, Leigh just wants to pay off her medical school loans and leave. Ben Logan has been carrying a torch for Leigh ever since they stopped dating years ago. Now that he is the town's sheriff, Ben has promised a dying Tony to protect Leigh from his killers. Ben's hope is to keep Leigh alive while slowly winning back her heart. VERDICT Filled with edge-of-your-seat suspense, this well-written and fast-paced follow-up to Bradley's Shadows of the Past is one fans won't want to miss. Readers who enjoy books by Dee Henderson, Brandilynn Collins, and Irene Hannon will quickly snatch this title off the shelves.-Shondra Brown, Wakarusa P.L., IN (c) Copyright 2014.
