Booklist Review

It's probably no surprise that with an estimated 800 million unique visitors each month, Facebook is the most-visited social website, or that Frozen is the top-grossing animated movie. But fact-enthusiasts will enjoy discovering lesser-known tidbits in this annual record book: the sleepiest animal is the koala (edging out the sloth with 22 hours of sleep), and the driest inhabited place in the world is Aswan, Egypt, with only 0.02 inches of rain per year. The book is divided into categories that cover science and technology, money, pop culture, nature, and sports. Another section, on the U.S., includes 50 records that feature each state as the record holder. Although this record book doesn't have some of the more unusual records that Guinness World Records is known for, engaging color photos and graphs with the top-five record holders for each category will satisfy fact followers.--Leeper, Angela Copyright 2015 Booklist
