"Memento was written and designed by Julie Chen. The copper locket was fabricated by Christina Kemp, based on a design by Julie Chen. The text that appears on the woven token in the triptych was taken from the preambles to the constitutions of The United States and Iraq. The image that surrounds the token is of a bookseller's stall on Al-Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad prior to the bombing in 2007, and is used by permission of the Al-Mutanabbi Street Coalition.
