Summary:
17th Century Antiphonary (musical liturgy) belonged to nuns from an Augustinian convent in Italy, San Nicolai. Authenticated by a prelate of the pope--possibly a bishop--as evidenced by the heraldic emblem added to front binding sometime in the late-1800s or early-1900s (analysis of painted determined time period). Changes (additions, replacements and erasures) to the music were not uncommon and often locally influenced/composed.
