Vaclav and Lena, both Russian children whose families immigrated to America, had completely different home lives. Vaclav, fond of performing magic, was encouraged by his parents to strive towards the American Dream. Meanwhile, Lena endured horrific domestic strife before Vaclav's mother took her in.
