Summary:
During the 1963 NCAA Men's Basketball tournament, two teams faced the widespread racism of the day: the Loyola Ramblers, who had four African American starters on their team, and the all-white Mississippi State Bulldogs, who had routinely been kept out of the tournament due to an unwritten Mississippi state law prohibiting competition between white and non-white players. This is the story of the people who put themselves at risk to break down racial barriers, and the significance of their game in the broader struggle for racial equality.
