Cam Richter closes out his too-eventful detective service and seeks more peaceful pastures in the North Carolina countryside. He buys a 700-acre antebellum plantation and immediately finds himself the target of a killer who holds him responsible for something Cam is pretty sure he never did. As he tries to find out why someone wants him dead, he discovers that the history of the plantation has come back to visit.
