Don Stefano Magaddino murdered his way from the sleepy Sicilian village of Castellammare del Golfo to the mean streets of Brooklyn before heading to Western New York and seizing control of the notorious Buffalo mob. They called him The Undertaker, for the fortress-like funeral parlor he ran in nearby Niagara Falls, and by the end of Prohibition he ruled a criminal empire that stretched from Toronto to Youngstown, Ohio.
