"Four hundred and eighty-three copies of this edition have been issued to fill requisitions from members, and all over-sheets have been destroyed. Six copies of this edition are printed on Japanese vellum; one of which is assigned to the Library of the British museum; one to the Library of Congress; one is presented to Doctor Richard Garnett; one is retained by the society, and two will be sold at auction."

"The illustrations in this work are from original oil paintings by Howard Pyle, made especially for the Bibliophile society, to illustrate the Bibliomania. The etchings are by W. H. W. Bicknell, and appear in two printings, on Japanese vellum, remarque proof, and on Holland paper, without remarque."
