This volume continues a respected work with the same title and publisher (CH, Apr '80), also by Stineman and Loeb, who are now joined by Searing, women's studies librarian (Wisconsin) and author of Introduction to Library Research in Women's Studies (CH, Oct '85). This update recommends a core bibliography of works arranged under subject areas such as autobiography, business, law, literature, politics, religion. These are followed by a list of addresses for publishers not listed in Books in Print or Ulrich's, and author, title, and subject indexes. The detailed, lengthy annotations usually mention related works or other books by the same author, making the descriptions even more valuable and, in a sense, extending the total coverage of Women's Studies beyond its 1,211 entries. The authors have successfully achieved their stated objectives-``to offer a checklist against which libraries can evaluate their holdings'' and ``to provide guidance to the student, the researcher, and the reference librarian.'' This bibliography offers an excellent review of current scholarship in women's studies and is highly recommended for academic and public libraries.-M. McCormick, University of California, Los Angeles
