Booklist Review

In this all-purpose handbook for information ``entrepreneurs'' (people working with libraries or providing their own type of special information services), Warner describes traditional aspects of the field, including weeding collections, creating special libraries from scratch, and training staff, as well as less typical duties, such as conducting information-related conferences or doing online searching and document retrieval. In the main, Warner centers on how to fit such services into a profitable business plan. Finances and expenses, sales and marketing, and management issues are all discussed at length. A nice selection for librarians wanting to expand their horizons. To be indexed. PRD. 658.1'1 New business enterprises / Entrepreneur / Information consultants / Information services [CIP] 86-23641
