Library Journal Review

This book is ``An attempt to pull the companionship and mutual support out of the circle of chairs of a mothers' support group and into the covers of a book.'' She bases her book on the premise that motherhood catches women unprepared, and that ``Unfortunately, the new feminism has never really come to grips with motherhood as most women experience it.'' With this in mind Harrison deals with various concernschanged relationships with husbands, shared parenting, and moneyin an effort to diminish the feelings of isolation that motherhood typically brings in this culture. Nearly every page captures the essence of motherhood and expresses it in well-wrought passages. For most public libraries. Susan A. McBride, L.R.C., Northeast Texas Community Coll., Mt.
