Booklist Review

This pictorial includes a DVD, making it an exciting multimedia slice of American sports and well worth its very reasonable price. In Unhittable, 0 baseball pitchers take center stage as they recall their most memorable games on the mound. Box scores and stats accompany each game summary, which helps emphasize how little baseball has changed (the stats for John Lee Richmond's perfect game in 1880 look remarkably similar to those for David Cone's perfect outing in 1999). Fans will love the DVD of this one: it's one thing to read about Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series but quite another to watch Yogi Berra leap in the pitcher's arms after the final strikeout. --Mary Frances Wilkens Copyright 2004 Booklist
