Booklist Review

Reporter Jane Colby is shocked by a gruesome murder in her small southern town, but she is even more stunned to learn that the murderer isn't from this century and that she is his main target. Her only chance at surviving is fighting fire with fire, or, in this case, future with future, as embodied in Baran Arvid, a twenty-fourth-century warrior. Baran's orders are to keep her from dying, and Jane's mission is to stop the murderer before he kills again. As the tension mounts and their trust grows, both realize they're also trying not to lose their hearts. Knight keeps her writing feet firmly on the ground in her debut novel. Though a few plot points need strengthening--it would be good to see Baran pursue the killer more actively--and the coarse language used during lovemaking may not be to some readers' liking, her world is believable and her plotting fast paced. Knight's fictional world seems to have a promising future. --Nina Davis Copyright 2004 Booklist

Library Journal Review

Sent from 300 years in the future to keep reporter Jane Colby from falling victim to a wily Jumpkiller who's come forward in time to kill again, bio-engineered warlord Baran Arvid finds himself attracted to Jane. A macho, protective hero; a brave, modern heroine; a sick serial killer; and a wonderful, sentient wolf drive the plot of this violent, action-packed, but occasionally humorous romance with an sf touch. Nicely written, quickly paced, and definitely on the erotic side, this will appeal to readers who appreciate graphic language and a surfeit of explicit sex. Knight has written erotic novellas for the Secrets anthologies of sensual fiction from Red Sage, and this is her debut full-length novel. She lives in Roebuck, SC. (c) Copyright 2010.
