Summary

Summary

Criminal psychologist Dr. Erin Abbott wants nothing more than to live a quiet life. That means no danger, no intrigue-and absolutely no romance. But when Erin suspects a serial killer is roaming New Orleans, her investigation throws her straight into the arms of the only man who can help her.

Journalist Gabriel Moss is hot to find his next huge story-and he knows Erin is on to something big. From the moment they meet, Gabriel senses that Erin is hiding something. One thing is certain: Erin's boxy suits and sensible shoes hide a delicate beauty waiting to emerge...and Gabriel is just the man to reveal the woman inside.

As they join forces to find the killer, Gabriel slowly seduces Erin with his soft kisses. But Erin knows their love can never be. For she is hiding a terrible secret-and if Gabriel reveals the truth, Erin's life will be shattered forever...

Author Notes

Selena Montgomery grew up in southern Mississippi with two incredible parents and five fascinating siblings. She is a graduate of Spelman College, the LBJ School of Public Affairs, and Yale Law School. She draws upon her interest in and experiences with social and economic policy, politics, and creative writing to fuel her novels.

Selena is now a proud resident of Atlanta, where she is a lawyer by day and a writer during every waking hour. As her alter ego, she is the author of several pieces on tax policy and social justice issues.

Selena is also an obsessive consumer of political biographies, every genre of fiction, good television, and film & movies (which are different). She is still mourning the passage of Buffy and the end of the Star Trek: The Next Generation franchise.

Excerpts

Excerpts

"Erin. It's okay, honey..." As the reassuring strength of Gabriel's hold surrounded her, reality flooded in a rush. Mortified, Erin twisted against him, desperate to escape. Still, the wall at her back and the large man in front of her had her trapped. Sinewy arms held her tight to his body and the melodious baritone crooned in her ear. Warm breath whispered over suddenly fevered skin, and Erin succumbed, too exhausted to fight herself and the comfort he offered. She lifted her arms to wrap them around his waist. When he felt her capitulate, Gabriel sighed in baffled triumph. Tenderly, he kissed her temple, then her forehead. As she calmed down, he pressed his lips to the crown of her silky black hair. "Gabriel." What she started to say got lost beneath the firm lips that glided over her mouth, careful to taste, but not to take. Erin leaned into the kiss, lulled by its charm. There was no urgency to sink inside, no frantic mating to tie her stomach into knots. But how could she have expected that a first kiss could settle nerves and arouse desires at the same time? Wonderment blossomed and she parted her lips to invite more... Excerpted from Never Tell by Selena Montgomery All rights reserved by the original copyright owners.
