Library Journal Review

Decorating ideas that can be done quickly in the country style are the focus of these two books, which are filled with decorating tips and color photographs of bathrooms and living rooms that will inspire amateur decorators. Although Stamper, a New York-based writer, briefly discusses planning a complete bathroom overhaul, the focus is on the details-such as paint, tile, or decorative accessories-that can change a bathroom's look. Cahill, whose previous books (Bathrooms, Kitchens, and Kids' Spaces) contained a similar mix of photographs and decorating tips, here concentrates on how to achieve a country look in living rooms. Practical projects, such as pillow-making, are included. If patrons are looking for more ideas for country-style decorating, both these books will serve them well. (c) Copyright 2010.
