School Library Journal Review

Gr 4-8-Designed for hi/lo readers, these texts are so simply written that they do not contain much real information. Rangers provides more history than the others, but all three focus on the last decade. The texts are so full of acronyms that they are likely to be confusing and difficult to remember for students with limited attention spans or skills. Each cover features a full-color photo of soldiers in combat. Inside, some of the average-quality photographs have meaningless captions. Unless there is a serious need for hi/lo titles on this topic, these are marginal purchases.-Eldon Younce, Harper Elementary School, KS (c) Copyright 2010.
