Publisher's Weekly Review

Advanced amateur and professional wood-workers should be delighted with the 203 projects suggested here for making a job easier or solving a specific problem. Beware, however: this is not a manual for beginners. Furniture-maker and teacher Wearing offers no introductory text, nor does he state the purpose or function of any tool or procedure described. The first project is an ``improved sawing board,'' the last ``a carcase cramping system.'' In between come a dovetail marking system, a combined ``grasshopper'' and deep gauge, a wooden jack plane and a method of diametric drilling of cylinders, to name a few. The instructions are clear and detailed, and the accompanying drawings and diagrams are easily understood. December (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved
