'this beautiful book...is a must' Scottish Country House & Home

Reviews 1

Library Journal Review

This slightly oversized and impeccably produced coffee-table book highlights the beauty of Scotland's eight key regions, including Trossachs, Atholl, and Appin. Professional photographer Lloyd offers a collection of stunning, full-color photographs of the country's landscape throughout the seasons, accompanied by maps that give a good indication of each area's locality but are regrettably void of details. Ramsay, a conservationist and farmer, supplements the photos with brief descriptions of the places covered along with commentaries. Since the emphasis is on photography rather than on text-thus making this book ideal for armchair travelers-the "Photographer's Note" at the end of the book includes Lloyd's thoughts on the photography techniques. There is also a complete list of all the photographs along with various specifics (e.g., camera used, focal length, speed, and film). Both aspiring and veteran photographers will find this section useful. Surely a beautiful book but not a necessary purchase for libraries.-George M.
