Summary

Summary

Whether you resemble Scrooge or one of the Magi from the East, this delightful Christmas book will inspire and equip you to celebrate the season in fun, creative ways. Filled with humorous and poignant anecdotes -- from her memorable Christmas dinner of potato chips and candy bars to his contagious delight in filling Christmas stockings -- Laura's trademark humor winningly combines with Renaissance-man Michael's creativity in such chapters as "Away in a Ski Lodge," "His 'n Her Christmas Trees," and "Here Comes Doggy Paws, Here Comes Kitty Claws." Full of fun and practical how-to tips, this book will help you discover new ways to make your grown-up Christmas bright -- from hosting the perfect white-elephant gift exchange to recycling that dreaded fruitcake. Book jacket.

Reviews 1

Publisher's Weekly Review

From chapter one, entitled "Not Really an Introduction," to a subjective epilogue on who sings the best cover versions of various Christmas classics, it's clear that this book is meant to be Fun with a capital F. The Walkers offer craft suggestions (he quilts and sews) and recipes (she bakes), as well as tips on holiday movies, Christmas pageants, "Secret Santa" exchanges, decorating and getting away from it all. They also talk about how couples can learn from one another's family traditions while forging their own new ones-especially if, as in their case, the couple has no children. The Walkers' entertaining, funny book will help to make the season bright. (Sept.) (c) Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved
