School Library Journal Review

Gr 4-6-This simple, objective introduction flows easily and provides accurate, up-to-date information. How the past has helped to define the country today is given extensive treatment. Beautiful color photographs depict England as a land of contrasts, showing the lovely countryside as well as the menacing "peace walls" that were erected in Northern Ireland to stop the violence between Catholics and Protestants. A time line, easy-to-read maps, useful addresses, and a recipe are included. Readers will pick up this book for both research and general interest.-Robyn Walker, Elgin Court Public School, St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada (c) Copyright 2010.
