Summary:
A poster published by ENIT, the Italian government tourist office, and co-sponsored by the Italian state railways, advertising the city of Trieste and depicting a monument to Italian soldiers of World War I (foreground) silhoutted against a night sky in which a beam of light shines down to illuminate the Castello di Miramare (background), built in 1856-1860 by Archduke Maximilian of Austria, who served as viceroy of Lombardy and Venetia, then part of the Austrian Empire, before his ill-fated departure for Mexico.
