The scrapbook is bound in brown cloth, with the cover title as part of designs blindstamped on both covers and the spine. The front cover verso has the trademark label, "Mark Twain's Scrap Book," which includes the publisher, patents, and directions. The blank pages have gummed lines which the user is supposed to wet with a sponge and then to press the clipping down upon.
