1909 edition : The volume is half-bound in gilt-edged brown morocco, with a bound-in brown satin bookmark. The volume is further protected by a box of brown paper over cardboard. The front cover verso bears a tipped-in printed bookplate captioned, "Library of House of Simmons." The title leaf is hand-drawn and -lettered in red. The text leaves are typewritten in red ink (now faded to brown). The top edge is gilt. Leaf [9] bears the manuscript after the text of the first work, "To My Comrade a Copy with my Love, [signed] Stephen Marion Reynolds, who is here because (perhaps) he stoned the Store." Leaf [26] bears the manuscript note after the text of the second work, "To My Dear Comrade who got the full and minor meanings of this little true human story. With Love, [signed] Stephen Marion Reynolds, June 29/09."
