Booklist Review

PreS^-Gr.1. Like Andrea Beck's Elliot (see Elliot's Noisy Night, above) Franklin the Turtle is a Canadian character known on both sides of the border from his picture books and television show. The fifth book in the Franklin Treasury series includes the complete texts and illustrations from four holiday picture books: Franklin's Halloween (1996), Franklin's Valentines (1998), Franklin's Christmas Gift (1998), and Franklin's Thanksgiving (2001). Though the texts and illustrations are about the same size as in the individual volumes, the larger page size here allows for a more generous border of white space around the pictures. A relatively inexpensive way to offer access to these four picture-book stories. --Carolyn Phelan
