A physician whose family moved from Equatorial Guinea to the US when he was a child, A'Bodjedu draws on the oral tradition of his Ndowe ancestors and published literature to introduce the main characters in the folklore and mythology, and then present 15 tales. This is one of 16 volumes he has created so far on the people's history, culture, folklore, medicine, and language. He includes photographs, drawings, and a bibliography, but no index.
