Actress Katharine Houghton Hepburn was born in Hartford, Connecticut on November 8, 1907. She attended the Oxford School for Girls and Bryn Mawr College.

Hepburn wrote The Making of the African Queen and Me: Stories of My Life. She is one of America's best known actresses, and earned four Academy Awards.
