Author Notes

Art Lee was born Arthur Christopher Lee Jr. in White Plains, New York on May 4, 1942. After attending Union College in Schenectady, he joined the Marines and became a photographer for them. He was later a reporter for The Schenectady Gazette and The Times Union in Albany, a fund-raiser in Washington for the American League of Anglers, and a field editor for Fly Fisherman magazine. He wrote several books including Fishing Dry Flies for Trout on Rivers and Streams and Tying and Fishing the Riffling Hitch. In 2010, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Catskill Flyfishing Center and Museum. He died after suffering from a heart attack on July 25, 2018 at the age of 76.
