Local Note:
1891 edition: 15 x 12.8 cm. The printer's imprint, "Manufactured in Germany," is in the margin of the first plate. Copy 1 is bound in brown cloth; copy 2, in salmon pink cloth. Both volumes have an elaborate gilt border on both covers, and the cover title stamped in gilt on the front cover. The strip of plates is attached to the left endpaper; the text pages, to the right endpaper. The text pages are of white machined paper, now somewhat brittle. The title page has only the full title; its verso has an introductory note and the copyright data.
