Reviews 1

School Library Journal Review

K-Gr 1-On 11 spreads, a mouse magician changes a middle vowel, thus creating a new word. Some of the pairs, such as "leg" and "log," will be familiar to beginning readers. Others, such as "rig" and "rug," will be less so. However, the color cartoon illustrations, featuring a mix of animals and people of varying ethnicity, show clearly what a "sax" is, even if the musical instrument is unfamiliar to children. A cheery introduction to vowels.-Lisa Smith, Lindenhurst Memorial Library, NY (c) Copyright 2010. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
