1822 edition: a¹² b⁴ B-N¹² O⁸; [i]-xii xiii-xvi [1]-144 145-152; 16.8 x 10.5 cm. The printer's imprint is on the title page verso and at the bottom of the last page of text. The volume is quarter-bound in maroon leather over printed boards, with the cover title, publisher, and engraving of "Britannia" on the front cover, and the same on the back cover except for a different engraving (of the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral) and the addition of the series. The spine is decorated with gilt stars and horizontal rules. The endpapers and text pages are of plain white rag paper, now somewhat foxed. The front bound endpaper bears in its upper right corner a rose sticker engraved in black, "Richardson and Handford, Booksellers & Printers, Market Place, Derby." The title page has the full title, author, engraving of "Britannia," publisher, and date and place of publication. The text includes several poems, and the engraved illustrated plates are hand-colored and numbered.
