Booklist Review

Gr. 2-4. Pterosaurs were birdlike prehistoric creatures that lived some 215 million years ago. They are the subject of this carefully crafted fold-out, pop-up book that presents ten or so varieties. The information on size, habitat, food, and distinguishing physical features is presented in a somewhat lyrical manner. Beneath each portrait is an excerpt of poetry appropriate to the species. The flying animals' portraits on pale, clay-colored spreads show them in their natural surroundings and are simply, rather than spectacularly, engineered. For browsing fans of dinosauria and for use in introducing the subject in primary science classes. DMW. 567.9 Pterosauria / Paleontology / Extinct animals
