Summary:
Compiled over many years by John Eshleman of Clarence, New York. Includes his appointment as postmaster in Clarence in 1854, his certificate of having paid for a substitute to avoid the Civil War draft, souvenirs of his travels to various cities, maps, photographs, daguerreotype portraits, newspaper articles on the assassination of Lincoln, the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901, and miscellaneous items.

Rare Book Room: The scrapbook is bound in maroon paper over boards, with an embossed design in gilt and multi-colored illustrations on the front cover; the spine is missing. Its pages are very brittle, and should be handled with great care.
