General Note:
First American edition: 19.5 x 13 cm. The printer's imprint, "T.K. & P.G. Collins, Printers, No. 1 Lodge Alley, " is in a colophon at the bottom of the title page verso. The volume is bound in brown boards, with the author and half-title stamped in gilt on a black levant label which is now partly missing, as is also the spine as a whole. The endpapers are of plain white paper slightly foxed; the front bound endpaper bears the ownership sticker, "PRIVATE LIBRARY OF C. E. BOTSFORD." The text pages are of plain white laid paper, now somewhat foxed. The title page has the title, author, publisher, and date and place of publication; its verso bears the stamp in black ink, "GEORGE NATHAN NEWMAN, 7-20-39 D."
